Mindfulness training involves an intention to develop
our mental capacity, in a way that allows us to relate to our experience in a more skillful way, as it is happening in the current moment. It could be called going  to the Gym for our minds.

Williams et al. state  (2007.p.194) “the central message of the whole mindfulness program :to learn how to relate differently to the constantly changing patterns in the mind and the body ;to hold the recurrent patterns of both mind and body in the accepting and open hearted embrace of awareness”.

John Kabbat Zinn,(2008) Defines Mindfulness as paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally, it involves moving from a doing goal orientated existence, into a being mode.it allows us to be more in touch with our being, through a systematic process of self-observation.

Mindful Self-Compassion
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically supported, 8-week, training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Based on the groundbreaking research of Kristin Neff PhD, and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer PhD, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care and understanding. MSC training  allows us to acknowledge our self-critical inner voice and develop strategies for dealing with it, and the challenging emotions we experience in our lives.

When we give ourselves compassion, we are opening our hearts in a way that can transform our lives---Kristin Neff.
